a new lesson

"For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for His good purpose." Philippians 2:13

Trying to make the most of my summer, i signed up as an assistant at McCarthy Teszler School's Summer Camp.  I went into the position clueless of what my duties would be, only knowing they had staffing needs.  I just didn't realize i had a need for them too.

The first couple of days, i was overwhelmed and doubted my ability to do the necessary tasks for these special, sweet students.  But a sign in the parking lot said otherwise. When i first starting writing devotions, i named my group "The Salt Shakers" since we are like the salt of the Earth sharing and sprinkling God's love on others.  I took this actual sign as a message from God... i was right where He intended.

As i continued at camp, i learned a lot about my tasks, coworkers, students and myself. The satisfaction of serving at MTZ was far greater for me than anyone else.  I developed a deeper understanding and  appreciation for their incredible staff and their students in their daily lives. It was a true blessing to witness them thrive with peace and JOY in what most view as difficult or impossible circumstances.  My life is richer and kinder from this experience and new profound knowledge.  I will miss my new friends there... but i will never, never forget them.  They are forever etched in my heart.

We are loved and chosen by God,
may we live, love and do like we believe it,
veneal
