W.W.J.D.?

"Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children." Ephesians 5:1

While growing up over 30 years ago, W.W.J.D. bracelets spread across our land in schools, churches and homes.  The phrase, "What Would Jesus Do" became a common response to troubling questions for teenagers, as well as, adults.

In light of recent difficulties, it seems a WWJD mindset might assist in calming the raging waters of disagreement, discourse and turmoil.  While i don't know the answers to current problems and issues, i do believe if we dealt with situations and each other as Jesus would we'd experience greater comfort, healing and peace.

Father, help us to face our issues at hand by answering questions with What Would Jesus Do.

How might that change our action, attitude, or heart?
Would our answer then be based on our individual need/desire or more on the need of others?
Would we strive to be politically correct or right in Your eyes?
Would our personal agenda be met or erased?
Am i willing to sacrifice self-interests for the sake of another?
Where do personal rights rank with me? ...with Jesus?
Am i willing to suffer for the good of others?
What would Jesus do if faced with the same issue?

One fact for sure, we are a hurting land in need of healing.  It is my prayer to not put salt in our wounded heart, but the healing salve of God... and that is only possible when there is less of me and more of God in my heart.

Less of me, and more of Thee...
that's what it's got to be.
May His peace be yours.
amen.

we are loved and chosen by God,
may we live, love and do like we believe it,
veneal
