fix your face
"Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength." Nehemiah 8:10
It's Friday, my friend, no matter what has happened this week, may you find JOY in your weekend with Him.
He reigns
"But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You." Psalm 5:11
The weather today is daunting, wet and unpleasant. As a child of God, no matter what our day holds, we are under the umbrella of God's love and assured of His complete protection. With Him, we have nothing to fear.Singing in the rain is possible, thanks to God. He reigns, so we can sing.

it's not what you think
"A patient person has great understanding..." Proverbs 14:29
We have some people eyeing our tree in the Media Center, prompting them to ask, "Why do you still have a Christmas tree up?""Well, it sure looks like one."
While studying Jan Brett in January over 10 years ago, we decided to create our now famous Jan Brett Winter tree. Once new visitors take time for a look closer at the decorations, it is snow clear they had erred.
Lord, in this fast-paced world, there are definitely times we need to slow down, stop, and step back. A great understanding starts with patience as we seek and wait for Your guidance.

when we don't know
I quickly sought out her teacher to share the incident with her. She explained both parents of the student work third shift. It was up to the student to set an alarm, dress and get to the bus stop on time. Mind you we are talking of a young elementary student. I had no clue of the challenges this student faced.
In most instances, we hardly ever know another person's whole story. So, when we have the opportunity, may we do good to all. I don't know when it's ever the wrong choice.
We can't help what someone else wears, but we do choose what we wear... on our body and in our heart.

what is your dream?
"But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness." James 3:17-18
Dream can come true.
Thankful for Martin Luther King, Jr. and all the others willing to do as Jesus would.we are loved and chosen by God,

how to change a life

my lips are sealed
1. Know your limits. Do not overextend the number of tasks you can manage successfully.
2. Know when to keep your lips sealed. Sometimes silence is the best answer.
I have nothing else to say, and this task is done for today. Be blessed.

JOY still possible
"...weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." Psalm 30:5
How is this possible... weeping, then rejoicing?
Was it a night dream or night vision... who can say for sure. News of a family member waking up after receiving a "visit" from our loved one made the morning a brighter one. During the visit she was assured she was and IS always loved and not alone. Later that day, when randomly cleaning out a stack of papers from under my desk calendar, i uncovered yet another confirmation that we are not alone, my heart overflowed with deeper JOY.
No matter the hurt, the pain, the disappointment, the heartache, the burden, God can and will bring JOY into your day. And as i've experience this week, even if the weeping returns night after night, so will the JOY return morning after morning.
Thank You, Father. Through the tears and the JOY, all is well with my soul, because of You. We are not left alone. Death is not the end.
we are loved and chosen by God,
may we live, love and do JOYfully like we believe it,

high winds
He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm." Matthew 8:24-26

still celebrating
"I am the LORD, and
I will bring you out from under (your circumstances).I will free you from (bondage), and
I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with might acts of judgment.
I will take you as My own, and
I will be your God." Exodus 6:6-7
No matter what happens or doesn't happen, we are still cherished, pursued and loved by God. And that is reason enough to celebrate. Believe and know He will see us through each day as He sees fit.
Thank You, Father.

do you make mistakes?
"Do you have any white out?" But before I could respond, she continued, "Oh, that's right, you don't need it because you don't make mistakes."
It's one of our long-standing, favorite jokes, and we both had a good laugh remembering the first time i told her that. My classic response to her question is partially right. The truth is i make PLENTY of mistakes, i could write several novels on them. I just don't cover up or erase them. What's done is done, and in many instances, there is no going back. A better solution is to look, learn and live by moving forward from them.
Father, may we see a mistake as a possible opportunity to learn and grow in being more Christlike. The pain may then be replaced with the peace we gain.
