"Come," He said. Then Peter got down out of
the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the
wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save
me!" Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught him. "You of little faith," He said, "why
did you doubt?" Matthew 14:29‑31
We
are all called to step out of the boat ‑ out in our faith. The stark realization is faith
is not a one‑time process. You don’t
simply "get it" and check it off your list... it is a continuous life
process. The initial step is simple
stepping out of the comfort of our boat... of what we know and trust. Next, is putting our eyes on Him so we can
walk on the waters of life, which can be dark, murky, rough and deep. Third, is maintaining our focus on Him
as the unexpected winds/temptations/trials in life come our way, as they
inevitably will. Even a sheer glance
away from our Lord and Master is long enough for the waves of life to engulf us
in fear, doubt or unbelief.
Where
are you? Don’t get stuck in the boat or
have a "sinking" spell. Take a
walk out in faith. It’s a matter of keeping our focus on Him. Go on, do it.
He’s out there waiting to show you something incredible.
Have
a faith‑filled day!
